Life Story of Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa was born on 26th of August in 1910 Skopje, North Macedonia in a catholic religious family. Her birth name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu who later became famous as Mother Teresa after her great works and life achievements. She decided to become a nun early in her childhood. She had joined a convent in 1928 and then came to India.
Once Mother Teresa was returning from her visit she became very emotional and her heart was broken after seeing the sadness in the people’s eyes in Kolkata’s slums. That incident upset her mind a lot and turned a lot of her nights sleepless. She started thinking of ways to decrease the people’s sufferings. She was famous for her social restrictions so she prayed to God for some guidance. Eventually on the 10th of September 1937, she got her message from God which was to leave the convent and serve the needy people. With which she started serving the needy people. She chose to wear a white saree with a blue border.
Soon, young girls began joining her group to provide support to the needy people of the poor community. She decided to make a group of dedicated sisters who would always be ready to serve the needy. Later the group of dedicated sisters were to be known as “Missionaries of Charity”. She was a very religious and prominent lady who had devoted her whole life in front of us as a true mother by giving social services and full dedication and love to the poor people of India. She is also known as “Saint of out times” or “angel” or “a beacon of light in the world of darkness”. Mother Teresa left us forever on 5th September 1997 at Kolkata, India.
