The origin of the word ‘’ Bamboo” is derives from the Malay word ‘Mambu”. Malay is the national language of Malaysia and Indonesia. In the forest, a bamboo plant can live for more than 120 years.

Now, I am going to tell you more interesting fact about bamboo plant.

1. Bamboo is a grass, not a plant.
2. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Some bamboo species can grow upto 41cm(3feet) over a 24-hour period.
3. Bamboo creates more oxygen than trees.
4. Bamboo is stronger than steel.
5. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial.
6. Bamboo is a nutritious food source.
7. Bamboo does not require fertilisers or pesticides for optimal growth.
8. Bamboo is also used as a medicines.
9. Bamboo provides housing for 15% of the people n the world.
10. Bamboo survives bombs and natural disaster.
