Types of Chocolates

Chocolate is a food made from the seeds of a cacao tree. It is used in many desserts like pudding, cakes, candy, and ice cream. The taste of chocolate is often described as sweet because chocolate makers usually add a lot of sugar and milk for taste.

This means that chocolate can be bad for your teeth and health. It is best to eat chocolate in moderation. Below are the types of chocolates commonly used:-

  • Milk chocolate is sweet chocolate that also contains milk powder or condensed milk. Milk chocolate is perhaps the most popular type of chocolate. It actually contains only 10 to 40 percent cacao mixed with sugar and milk (either condensed milk or milk solids). Milk chocolate is much, much sweeter than dark or bitter sweet chocolate and has a lighter color and less-pronounced chocolate taste. However, milk chocolate isn’t great for baking because it’s prone to overheating.
  • White chocolate, although similar in texture to that of milk and dark chocolate, does not contain any cocoa solids. Because of this, many countries do not consider white chocolate as chocolate at all. Because it does not contain any cocoa solids, white chocolate does not contain any theobromine, so it can be consumed by animals.
  • Dark chocolate is produced by adding fat and sugar to the cacao mixture. Dark chocolate contains almost twice as many flavonoids as milk chocolates, but it contains more caffeine than other chocolates.
  • Ruby chocolate is the newest variety around and was first formulated in China in September 2017. It is made from ruby cocoa beans naturally found in Ecuador, Brazil, which give the chocolate its rosy hue. It is said to taste a combination of white chocolate and berries, even though there aren’t any berries in the recipe.
